Crysis Remastered looks like Xbox One X's most broken game

By Heidi Nicholas,
A Crysis indeed. It's launch day for Crysis Remastered, but if the footage below is anything to go by, some players are definitely having a struggle with it.

The gameplay videos (there are several more in that Twitter thread) come from Forbes' Matt Gardner, and show the game floundering in a buggy mess on the Xbox One X, both in Quality mode and RayTracing mode. After advice from developer Crytek, Gardner tried reinstalling the game, only for Crysis Remastered to apparently punish this decision by becoming even more broken. Other players seem to be having similar issues, as commented on Resetera.

Crysis Remastered was always going to be a beast of a game. The original had already pushed PCs and consoles to the utmost limit, and the screenshots and trailers for Crysis Remastered promised even more of a graphical impossibility. These issues in the remastered version are all the more surprising, given that the game was pushed back a few weeks to hone it still further, with Crytek commenting, "this extra time until release will allow us to get Crysis Remastered up to the PC — and console — breaking standard you've come to expect from Crysis games." Which, from the footage above, is still technically true.

Crytek has a plan, however. In the Crysis Remastered review over on Forbes, Matt Gardner says Crytek has confirmed an issue in the Xbox One graphic settings, and that a patch is on its way for next week. From the sound of it, these issues are only happening on Xbox One X. How's your playthrough of Crysis Remastered going so far? Let us know in the comments!
