Doom Eternal could be joining Xbox Game Pass soon

By Sean Carey,
Doom Eternal could be joining the Xbox Game Pass lineup. The Xbox Game Pass Twitter account has been teasing some big news, and it seems that the internet has figured it out.

The game pass social media Twitter team posted an image of an email from the now well known, Melissa McGamepass. The fake email talks about the recent EA Play news and the rollout of the Cloud Gaming beta but also mentions there's some more big news to come. The body of the tweet says there are "absolutely no hints in the screenshot" and urges nobody to look for them. When looking at the capital letters in the email, the words "Look Below" are spelt out. Several users on Twitter have now found that if you lower the brightness of the image, the words "The Slayer is coming" appear.

It's highly likely that "the Slayer" is referencing the main character in the Doom franchise, who was renamed from Doomguy to Doom Slayer for the 2016 reboot. Considering Microsoft has acquired Bethesda along with the Doom IP, and with Doom 2016 leaving Xbox Game Pass back in May, it somewhat makes sense that a high profile game such as Doom Eternal would be added to the Xbox Game Pass lineup.

As soon as we hear more on whatever this teaser might be, we'll update you.
