Monster Hunter World: Iceborne's final major update arrives this week & introduces Fatalis

By Heidi Nicholas,
Monster Hunter: World's next and final major update for Iceborne is just days away, arriving for free on October 1st and bringing with it the legendary elder dragon Fatalis.

Fatalis is roosting in the Castle Schrade ruins, and is only available as a special assignment once you've finished Iceborne's story and the Alatreon investigation. The expedition will be led by a new character from the Guild, the General, as well as the Excitable A-lister — known as the Ace Cadet in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. The castle ruins still hold some of the weapons used against Fatalis before, like the Dragonator and cannons. If you succeed, you'll be able to craft a Fatalis weapon design, two armour sets, and a Palico Fatalis set.

Arch-tempered Velkhana also arrives in this update as part of a limited-time event from October 16th, followed by the Autumn Harvest Astera Fest and the Seliana Fun Fright Fest from October 16th to November 5th, which the devs say will have a "sort of horror-inspired, haunted house feel." There'll be Palico armour and a unique Cute Demoness Handler costume, as well as a new look for the snowmen. That Title Update 5 trailer also included a look at the Iceborne collaboration with Universal Studios Japan, with the collaboration quest available on October 1st.

Title Update 5 arrives on October 1st. Although this will be the last free major update for Iceborne, event quests will still be updated.
