Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 exclusive game mode finally coming to Xbox

By Sean Carey,
It's been almost a year since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launched, and one game mode has been exclusive to PlayStation this entire time. From October 1st, Xbox gamers will finally be able to play Survival mode in Spec Ops.

Infinity Ward senior communications manager Ashton Williams made the announcement over on Twitter. Xbox users will need to download the Xbox One Survival Pack (5.9GB) to access the Survival game mode. The pack has been made available today alongside the Season Six update.

At this point, the game mode has probably been long-forgotten by many Xbox players, so it will be interesting to see if there's any interest in Survival from the green team. Just to be clear, this is different from Spec Ops, which Xbox players already have access to. Survival is essentially a co-op Horde mode where teams of four players fight against waves of AI enemies that increase in difficulty over time. The mode is a test of endurance with an infinite number of waves, so don't go into Survival expecting to beat it.

Survival mode will be available to play on Xbox One from October 1st.
