Keanu Reeves is centre stage in latest Cyberpunk 2077 commercial

By Heidi Nicholas,
Keanu Reeves became almost synonymous with Cyberpunk 2077 after his famous appearance at E3 2019. CD Projekt Red is continuing this by starting October with a new Cyberpunk 2077 commercial in which Keanu Reeves crops up to give his take on criminal life in 2077.

"In 2077, what makes someone a criminal? Getting caught," begins Reeves. "In Night City, you can become anyone, anything, if your body can pay the price." Here, the trailer shows us more shots of cyberware, a hugely important feature of the game. "So seize the day, then set it on fire," concludes Reeves, preparing to zoom away from his trailer-making duties in a suitably Cyberpunk-style car, and referencing his own "we have a city to burn" line from one of the game's earlier trailers.

Aside from Reeves' narration, the trailer doesn't show much of the game that we haven't seen before but seems mostly intended to stoke up excitement for the game as its November release date draws closer. The game has been delayed twice, and CDPR recently made headlines following reports of a mandatory six-day working week for employees in the leadup to launch. Studio head Adam Badowski later released a statement in which he said that it was "one of the hardest decisions" he's had to make.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on November 19th for Xbox One and early 2021 for Xbox Series X.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
