Minecraft Dungeons gets cross-play and new DLC soon

By Sean Carey,
Cross-play is finally coming to Minecraft Dungeons in a free update that's rolling out in November. Soon, you'll be able to stop the evil Arch-Illager's reign of terror with your pals on PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Mojang Studios has also announced a new DLC expansion and season pass coming in December.

The Howling Peaks DLC will have players travelling to a new biome filled with snow-capped peaks to defeat a boss called The Tempest Golem. There's also a bunch of unique gear to collect and some new mobs to contend with. Alongside the expansion comes the free Apocalypse Plus update, which adds 20 new difficulties after Apocalypse VII, increases characters' power cap, and brings with it some more enchantments and items.

As yet, nothing has been mentioned on achievements for Howling Peaks, but considering the Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter expansions both received achievements, it's likely the new DLC will get some too. A new season pass has also been announced, indicating there will be more expansions in the future. Prices have not been given for the season pass or the Howling Peaks DLC.

The Minecraft Dungeons cross-play update rolls out sometime in November, with the Howling Peaks DLC and season pass arriving in December.
