Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered confirmed, launches in November

By Heidi Nicholas,
EA has now confirmed a remaster of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will launch for Xbox One next month on November 6th — almost as soon as you can say Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, which, admittedly, takes quite a while to say. We've got a new trailer and a whole host of details on what to expect when the racing game arrives. You can take a first look at the game below, although, granted, there's only a few seconds of the game itself.

EA details the announcement in full in its latest news post. "Ten years ago, Criterion Games released their critically acclaimed franchise debut Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. It introduced NFS and racing fans to the winding, open roads of Seacrest County, Criterion’s renowned feel for breakneck speed and gameplay, and the innovative Autolog system, empowering true social competition between friends. Ever since, we’ve heard so many stories about the triumphant moments and heated rivalries Autolog fostered. Some of which run very, very deep... Unleash a savage sense of speed both as an outlaw and a cop in this timeless racing experience updated for today’s platforms."

The remaster includes cross-platform multiplayer and Autolog as well as all "main DLC," including the SCPD Rebel Racer Pack, Super Sports Pack, Armed & Dangerous Pack, Lamborghini Untamed Pack, and Porsche Unleashed Pack. Also included with the remaster are new achievements, car colours, wraps, an updated photo mode, and "enhanced visuals" with Xbox One X players able to choose between 4K/30 FPS or 1080p/60 FPS, while the base Xbox One can run 1080p/30 FPS. The Xbox One version also includes 4K UI, "higher resolution reflections, boosted textures, more particles, and improved AA/SSAO."

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered launches on November 6th.
