Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality announced for 2021

By Heidi Nicholas,
Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality has been confirmed for consoles and PC, and is scheduled to launch in Spring 2021. Developer Maze Theory mentions the game has been built for both current and next-gen consoles, so it's likely the game will arrive for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

If you're a Doctor Who fan, you've probably got one Doctor in particular pegged as your Doctor, but it's two for the price of one with The Edge of Reality which brings two Doctors — Jodie Whittaker's thirteenth Doctor and David Tennant's tenth Doctor — when it arrives next year. The trailer shows some other familiar faces from the TV show: the Weeping Angels, Cybermen, and of course, the Daleks, but the game's site mentions there will also be new monsters. The Edge of Reality is a reimagining of 2019's Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, and will also feature new worlds.

As you'd expect from a Doctor Who game, you'll be up against a "universe-spanning threat." The Edge of Reality is a continuation of the story from The Edge of Time, and you'll be attempting to save reality from a "series of time-breaking glitches," and to uncover a "greater mystery."

Also announced alongside Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality was Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins, a game headed to mobiles and Nintendo Switch, and developed by Kaigan Games. Both games are scheduled to launch in Spring 2021.
