Morkredd launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass in December

By Heidi Nicholas,
Morkredd is an unsettling co-op puzzle game, now confirmed to launch for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and onto Xbox Game Pass, this December.

Tension seems to be key in Morkredd, with your characters surrounded by darkness and flashing lights. It's a physics-based co-op game for one to two players with puzzle-solving and a "challenging balance of light and shadow." Developer Hyper Games confirms it will come to Steam and the Windows Store, and as a console exclusive to Xbox.

"You are the Orb's protector, and the Orb's light is yours," the devs say. Morkredd has over 60 puzzles, and "the Orb always calls for two." If you're playing with two players, you need to avoid the shadows made by your partner, but if you're playing alone, you need to "master the controls of two characters simultaneously."

There's not much to be gleaned about Morkredd yet, not even a specific release date. Hyper Games is keeping its secrets close to its chest for now, and all we know is that this tense puzzler will launch for Xbox Game Pass in December. We usually find out Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC games in the month they arrive — seven more Xbox Game Pass October additions were recently announced, and just today we learned that the Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, and Full Throttle remasters will be joining soon, while Rainbow Six Siege will be here even sooner, arriving this week. Morkredd isn't alone in December, however: in the Xbox showcase back in July, Square Enix confirmed Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age will launch for Xbox Game Pass in December.
