PUBG gets a 60fps mode on Xbox One X

By Sean Carey,
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will finally be playable at 60fps on console. The game's Season 9 update is now available to download on the PUBG test servers, which includes an option to increase the game's frame rate.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

As detailed over in the latest PUBG console patch notes (via VG247), a "Framerate Priority" setting can be toggled in the settings menu, which allows those on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro to play the battle royale game at a buttery smooth 60fps. However, the PUBG team says in order to increase the frame rate, the resolution will be dropped to 1080p. This feature is currently only available for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro players, but developer PUBG Corporation does say it's investigating increasing the fps cap on other consoles too.

Update 9.1 also introduces Paramo, a new 3x3 map that features an active volcano and dangerous lava streams. The PUBG team says Paramo is dynamic, and major landmarks will be relocated at the start of every new session, making for a unique experience each time players jump into a match. A few other changes are coming with the update, including some weapon balancing, bug fixes, and the introduction of a ranked solo queue. You can view the full patch notes over on the PUBG website.

Last month we looked into global achievement unlocks for PUBG and found that less than 50% of Xbox PUBG players have scored a single kill. Maybe with the new update rolling out to all players soon, that percentage might jump up a bit.
