Xbox Game Pass

Carto (Console & PC) – October 27th

Carto Achievements

Carto is a beautiful indie game set to launch tomorrow, in which the key mechanic involves you swapping the pieces of the game's map around to move Carto to new places. The Xbox Wire post says Carto has been separated from her granny, and "must use her innate cartography powers to map and manipulate the world around her on her quest to be reunited." Each new map piece allows you to rearrange the map and unlock new paths.

Five Nights at Freddy’s (Android, Console & PC) – October 29th

Five Nights at Freddy's

The first four titles of the Five Nights at Freddy's series join Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC on Android, console, and PC in just a few days on October 29th, bringing plenty of animatronic horror just in time for Halloween. "Freddy Fazbear animatronics beloved by thousands of children have always been quirky, especially after hours… Many previous night guards have reported they act almost “possessed”, but that can’t be, they are just machines, right? There is nothing for you to worry about. Play through the original four titles and discover for yourself. Just show up for your night shift and do the job well and everything will be alright. Or will it…"

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (Android) – October 29th

PUBG Season 5 Pans Giveaway

PUBG becomes available for Android on October 29th, just in time for the game's ninth season to arrive alongside the new Paramo 3x3 map. "Cradled hidden among the clouds in the highlands of South America lies Paramo, an ancient land with ancient secrets. Paramo is a 3×3 map with a dynamic world new to PUBG. This dynamic world system alters locations between matches, making every trip to Paramo a unique experience."

Unruly Heroes (Android, Console & PC) – October 29th

23/01/2019 - Carousel

Unruly Heroes is a platformer inspired by "Journey to the West," a 16th century Chinese novel. There are four playable characters: Wukong the Monkey King, Sanzang the Sleepy Monk, Kihong the Greedy Pig, and Sandmonk the Sensitive Bruge, all of whom are on a mission to collect the pieces of the sacred scroll to restore balance. Unruly Heroes offers both solo and co-op play. "With its simple to pick up, hard to master combat system across 4 playable characters, evolving gameplay and surprises galore, Unruly Heroes is not your run-of-the-mill action-platformer... master the combined strength of the heroes and kung-fu fight a diverse line-up of creatures and demons within a colourful hand-drawn fantasy world."

Celeste (Android, Console & PC) – November 5th

Celeste Portrait

Celeste is a true gem of a game, and arrives back for console, PC, and Android on November 5th. You'll be helping Madeline scale Celeste Mountain and face her "inner demons" once more. Celeste is a real masterpiece, and even if you're not usually a fan of platformers, you should definitely give it a go, with the Assist Mode helping to soften the difficulty however you like. Celeste is on our list of the seven best Xbox One platformers available in 2020, and it won't be long until it arrives on Xbox Game Pass.

Deep Rock Galactic (Android, Console & PC) – November 5th

Achievement Article Screens

Deep Rock Galactic sounds like a pretty awesome sci-fi adventure. It's an FPS for one to four players "featuring badass space Dwarves, 100% destructible environments, procedurally-generated caves, and endless hordes of alien monsters." There are four classes to choose from, and you'll be switching between weapons and gadgets for combat, and "next-level space mining" to go digging for gold, gems, and minerals.

Comanche (PC) – November 5th

Comanche is described as "a modern helicopter shooter set in the near future," with both a single-player campaign to "make a difference in a conflict of global proportions" or multiplayer modes. It doesn't look as though Comanche supports achievements, but it arrives on Xbox Game Pass for PC in under two weeks, so it might be well worth a play.

Eastshade (Android, Console & PC) – November 5th

Eastshade looks like an intriguing game. It's listed as an adventure game, but it has to be an adventure in the most relaxing sense of the word: you play as a painter, exploring Eastshade, painting its views and giving them to its animal inhabitants. You explore the beautiful in-game world, solve some quests and obstacles, and help your (slightly creepy) animal friends with their problems. It looks beautiful, relaxing, and just what the doctor ordered if you're looking for some good escapism.

Knights and Bikes (Console & PC) – November 5th

Knights and Bikes

Knights and Bikes is a gorgeous hand-painted coming-of-age action-adventure for one or two players. It's set in the 1980s on a British island and features Nessa, Demelza, their pet goose, and, according to the game's site, "the pickled-head of an undead knight." So, you know. Nothing unusual there. Knights and Bikes is inspired by the Goonies and is all about imagination and friendship, with Nessa and Demelza forming the Rebel Bicycle Club and setting off to look for danger, upgrade their bikes, and explore the island.

Ark: Survival Evolved: Explorer’s Edition (Android, Console & PC) – November 17th

ARK: Survival Evolved ~ SuperHeroArt

Ark: Survival Evolved is already available on Xbox Game Pass, but on November 17th, three of its expansion packs will arrive: Scorched Earth, Aberration, and Extinction. With the base game, this means "nearly 900 hours of gameplay" will be available. If you've already got the base game downloaded, each DLC will be available to download individually as well.

So, there you have it: a whole load of new games are on the way. And don't forget, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, and Full Throttle remasters arrive on Xbox Game Pass in a few days on October 29th.
