Taking to its official blog, the developer announced that Dirt Rally 2.0 had officially reached over 9 million players after debuting in early February 2019, which is quite the impressive feat.Over the last year or so, Dirt Rally 2.0 has attracted a sizable number of players, and the official infographic that accompanied Codemasters' declaration included some intriguing insights into who's been playing the game, how long they've managed to travel, and even how many stages they've completed. All told, players have driven a distance of 1,579,792,966 KM, which shakes out to about 981,637,839 miles across 196,236,715 stages. According to Codemasters, that's the equivalent of a trip from the Sun to Saturn, or around 10 trips from Earth to the Sun. That's nothing to sneeze at. Favorite locales for players include New Zealand, Spain, and Poland, in rally cars like the Mini Cooper S, Volkswagen Polo GTI R5, and the Volkswagen Golf GTI 16V. In terms of rallycross cars, players tend to gravitate toward the Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro, Volkswagen Polo R Supercar, and Volkswagen Polo S1600.The seventh title in the Dirt series has done quite well for itself, then. Focused on rallying and rallycross racing, it features a variety of stages across the globe as well as timed stages and additional racing events for players to compete in. “Whether players started in the Mini Cooper S, barrelled through Scotland in the Ford Fiesta R5 MKII or took on Timmy Hansen in the FIA World Rallycross Championship, we’re honoured so many players have driven with us," said Dirt Rally 2.0 game director Ross Gowing."We thank them all for their continued support, and here’s to more great memories in the future."Dirt Rally 2.0 is out now on Xbox One. Previously, it was part of Xbox Game Pass before leaving the service in September. Follow-up Dirt 5 is out next week on November 6th for Xbox One, while the next-gen version will launch alongside Xbox Series X|S on November 10th.More DiRT Rally 2.0 stories: Best racing games on Xbox Ten of the best sports games on Xbox Xbox Game Pass adds Curse of the Dead Gods, Hades, and more soon Bad North and five other titles set to leave Xbox Game Pass soon State of Decay 2, DiRT Rally 2.0 and more now support mods on the Windows 10 Xbox Beta app Xbox One
