Apex Legends Season 7 brings the new Olympus map and new Legend Horizon next week

By Heidi Nicholas,
The seventh season of Apex Legends, Ascension, launches in a week's time on November 4th, bringing new Legend Horizon and the new Olympus map.

Horizon already seems to have been through quite a lot. EA and Respawn describe Horizon as "a brilliant astrophysicist who escaped a black hole and aims to use her newfound mastery of gravity to keep a promise." The devs shared a lengthy Stories from the Outlands video about Horizon's backstory: Dr. Mary Somers was sent out into space in search of an answer to the energy crisis, and is looking for a way back to her son.

The new Olympus map, high up in the clouds, is beautiful — at least for about five seconds, before everyone arrives and starts blowing stuff up — and you'll be getting around the map on the new Trident vehicle. Season 7 brings several new features, including Clubs, to let you "find like-minded players, build a community, and rise together." The new Battle Pass comes with over 100 items, including Legendary skins and Holo-Sprays. As for Ranked Season 7, EA says "we’ll be starting with Olympus, then moving to World’s Edge in the second split, with the planned split reset on December 15, 2020. King’s Canyon will sit this season out for ranked play but will return in a later season."

Season 7 arrives on November 4th.
