Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War requires 136GB of storage space on Xbox Series X|S By Sean Carey, 05 Nov 2020 FollowtopicsCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarCall of DutyActivisionLocal MultiplayerOnline MultiplayerXbox Series X|SFirst Person ShooterSean Carey Activision has now revealed the file size for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on Xbox Series X|S, and as expected, it's a behemoth. Activision's latest blog post states that at launch, Xbox Series X|S will need to have a massive 136GB of storage space free on their hard drives to download and install the game. Activision also notes that "additional storage space may be required for mandatory game updates." According to the blog post, the file size will be the same size on both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, despite Microsoft stating that file sizes would be 30% smaller on the Series S compared to the Series X. A recent report revealed that the Xbox Series S only has 364GB of usable storage space, so Black Ops: Cold War will roughly take up about 37% of the all-digital console's SSD. On the Xbox One, things aren't as bad, but the game is still pretty big. You'll need to free up 93GB of space on your existing hard drive to be able to install this year's CoD. Thankfully, Activision does state that console players can choose to uninstall specific game modes to keep the overall file size of Black Ops: Cold War down. Packs such as Campaign and Zombies can be uninstalled and reinstalled freely. You can manage this content in-game through the "Account & Network" section of the settings menu.More Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War stories: Sony finally signs Call of Duty deal with Microsoft Microsoft signs "binding ten-year contract" to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms Microsoft offered Sony 10-year deal to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation Call of Duty Xbox player counts prove Modern Warfare II's dominance Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II ranked modes coming 2023 Xbox Series X|SXbox One Written by Sean CareyAvid Xbox and achievement fan, Sean has committed to playing the best RPGs, racing games, and first-person shooters Xbox Game Pass and his precious free time will allow.
