Xbox Series X|S exclusive The Medium delayed into 2021

By Sean Carey,
Developer Bloober Team has announced that the upcoming Xbox Series X|S console exclusive The Medium has been delayed from its December 10th release date to January 28th, 2021, citing the Covid-19 pandemic and the "current schedule of other games on the market."

The Medium originally supposed to launch on December 10th, which is also now the release date for Cyberpunk 2077. Now the dual-reality horror game will launch early next year. Bloober Team says that the additional development time will be used to polish the game further and that we can expect updates from the team soon.

Earlier this week, The Medium was refused classification in Australia. According to a report from Kotaku AU, the game could potentially be banned from releasing in the region unless the problem is rectified. It's currently unclear why the game was refused a rating, but representatives from Bloober Team told Kotaku AU that they would be working on getting the issue fixed.

The Medium will now launch on January 28th, 2021 for Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10, and will be available to play with Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC.
