Fallout 76 gets a new trailer and release date for Steel Dawn

By Heidi Nicholas,
Steel Dawn is the first chapter in the Brotherhood of Steel questline for Fallout 76. Bethesda has released a new trailer confirming a December 1st release date, giving a glimpse of what the Brotherhood will be up to.

Steel Dawn will be a free update, and sees Paladin Leila Rahmani ready to "establish a new Appalachian chapter." As usual with Fallout games, you'll be stuck in the middle of all the different warring factions and given the option of which you will help and which you will undermine. Steel Dawn also brings new NPCs, locations, quests, and new weapons and armour. The Brotherhood aims to rebuild and preserve society with technology from the past — "but only you can determine how it will be used."

Arriving after the start of Steel Dawn is the Season 3 Scoreboard which, beginning on December 15th, asks you to "join Time Operative K.D. Inkwell in her quest for the Guild of Antiquities and rank up to unlock new rewards including C.A.M.P. Allies, Lunchboxes, and more." There will also be new C.A.M.P. Shelters, which function as separate spaces which you can build and decorate, and Bethesda adds that if you complete a new quest after December 1st, you will get a Shelter for free. Lastly, Steel Dawn will introduce "Lite Allies," meaning you can recruit two new allies "who offer bonuses exclusively from your C.A.M.P."

Steel Dawn kicks off on December 1st, 2020, and Bethesda plans to continue the story with more quests and updates throughout 2021. Fallout 76 is vastly different now than it was at launch, with Bethesda's Todd Howard acknowledging that Fallout 76 players were "let down by what we delivered on day one."
