Semaphore Games Announces Unearthed For XBLA

Semaphore, a game-development studio based out of Saudi Arabia, revealed today that its previously announced title, Unearthed: The Trail of Ibn Battuta, will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade.

In Unearthed, you take on the role of Faris Jawad, a fortune hunter who follows in the footsteps of Ibn Battuta as he journeys across the Middle East. Jawad will have to overcome his foes, "a militia army leader, a weapons dealer, and a wealthy antiquities smuggler", as they all seek the same prize.

The game will feature stealth action, platforming components and melee fighting. In an unusual, but understandable move given the developer's location, Unearthed will be available in English and Arabic upon release. The game will be released episodically, according to Semaphore.

No release date has yet been announced for the first entry in Unearthed: The Trail of Ibn Battuta, but we'll be sure to bring you that information as we know it.
