Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Ubisoft "actively working" on fixing corrupted saves

By Heidi Nicholas,
Ubisoft is aware of the issues with corrupted saves in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and is "actively working" on fixing them.

Players have been reporting corrupted saves across Reddit, with some losing hours of progress despite multiple autosaves. Others have reported the game crashing before wiping all saves, even though they had quicksaved several times. For some, this has meant being sent back to a much earlier point in the game. Considering the size of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and all its activities, this can lead to losing a whole lot of progress. These crashes and corrupted saves have been reported on the Xbox One X and S and the Xbox Series X, although they seem to be more prevalent on the earlier consoles.

Ubisoft has now acknowledged these issues and is working on a fix. The Ubisoft Support team also linked to an FAQ in the meantime, which recommends that you don't overwrite the Cloud Storage save games when saving manually, or, if you find all your saves are corrupted, that you try restarting and choosing "continue" on the title screen. The devs also encourage players to attach the affected save game to a support request.

Have you had trouble with corrupted saves? Let us know in the comments. And for all players affected by corrupted saves, hang tight; a fix should hopefully be on the way soon.
