GTA Online could be getting its first-ever map expansion soon

By Sean Carey,
Rockstar Games looks to be teasing something big for Grand Theft Auto V's online multiplayer, GTA Online. The Rockstar Twitter account has posted a short teaser video of what some are speculating to be a new expansion to the game's map.

The tweet doesn't give away much. We see a file called the "El Rubio Dossier" opening and contains images of what looks to be a new island location, complete with palm trees, a big estate sitting atop a cliff, and a farm. A body and briefcase are then shown washed up on one of San Andreas' shores. If you look closely at the video, you can see that the body, identified only as John Doe, was last seen at Los Santos International Airport and has a known affiliation with someone called El Rubio.

Curiously, GTA Online players have been reporting a similar dead body, complete with a briefcase and wearing nothing but underwear, socks, and shoes, that appears at various times and locations along the West coast of the game's map. It's not known if this mysterious body relates to the El Rubio teaser or if it's for something else like a new heist.

At the moment, we don't know what to expect in the coming weeks for GTA Online. A large update for the game has been rumoured for some time now, but it remains unclear exactly what this update might contain. We'll keep you posted as soon as Rockstar releases any new information.

In the meantime, GTA Online players can earn themselves triple rewards on all Land Races this week.
