Updated: Assassin's Creed Valhalla players are currently having issues with Reda's shop

By Heidi Nicholas,
Updated: Reda's shop now seems to be working correctly, with most players reporting that they can now see items for sale. Unfortunately, the selection has changed again, so you'll have to wait and see if last week's items come back on sale. For now, though, you can still check out this week's selection. The daily item are the Valkyrie Shields for 50 opals, while the weekly selection offers the Huldufolk mythical armour for 120 opals, the Huldufolk tattoo for 50 opals, and the Draugr Demon Statue settlement decoration for 50 opals.

Original story: If you've been completing contracts, exploring, and looting your way to earning some opals this week, you might still need to wait a bit before spending them, as some Assassin's Creed Valhalla players have reported issues with Reda's shop.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Opals are scattered across the vast world of Valhalla, letting out a tantalising tinkling sound if you get near one. Sets of opals can be earned by completing contracts for Reda and his Thousand Eyes, to then be spent at Reda's shop — the new version of the Orichalcum store from Assassin's Creed Odyssey — on in-game cosmetics which you would otherwise need to spend Helix credits or real money on. Like with Odyssey, Reda's shop has weekly items and one daily item. The weekly ones offer more expensive credits, with Eivor needing to shell out a hefty number of those shiny opals for them. This week's items were scheduled to refresh soon, but players are now reporting that Reda's shop is empty.

Over on the Assassin's Creed subreddit and the Ubisoft support forums, a number of players are reporting seeing the "this section is empty" message for both the daily and weekly selection, leaving them unable to buy this week's items. We've checked and can confirm that the shop is showing as empty on our save. Reda's shop is the only way to buy in-game cosmetics without shelling out actual money, and it can take a bit of grinding to get the necessary 100+ opals needed for items like the Draugr bracers or a new greatsword. Some players have suggested that perhaps the shop has reset early, but since other players are also having trouble completing the "Viking for Hire" quest for completing ten contracts for Reda, it's possible there's another problem involved. Ubisoft might already be aware of the issues — older forum posts report the same problem — and the devs are already "actively working" on fixing corrupted saves, so we'll let you know if we hear more about the issue. For now, however, hang onto your opals and keep checking with Reda — those bracers could yet be yours.
