Apex Legends' Holo-Day Bash brings back the Winter Express mode next week

By Heidi Nicholas,
The Holo-Day Bash 2020 event kicks off in Apex Legendsnext week on December 1st, bringing sales, new cosmetics, a new rewards track, and the return of the Winter Express mode.

The Apex Legends team ran through the Holo-Day Bash 2020 details over on the game's site. Mark Yampolsky, systems designer on Apex Legends, says the limited-time Winter Express mode — which will be live from December 1st to January 4th — comes with "some exciting changes." The train is back, but Kings Canyon supply ships will also be found around Epicenter. Your team will respawn on your supply ship after a round has finished — unless you won that round, in which case you'd respawn on the train itself. Respawn times will be reduced as a result of these supply ships, while the train tracks will be broken up with another stop: Derailment, the "scene of a catastrophic accident that occurred as a cargo train travelling the opposite direction took a tricky turn at high speed." Yampolsky says Derailment offers some flanking opportunities, as well as a handy rotation so you can easily change sides under the bridge.

The new Legends which have arrived since the last Winter Express will, says Yampolsky, "shake up the mode in new, exciting ways," while the dev team has also "refreshed and rebalanced loadouts for this mode to include new weapons and purple armour for more exciting engagements." Holo-Day Bash 2020 also brings a rewards track, available from December 1st to January 4th, and a month of sales including skins for Loba, Revenant, and Spitfire.

Holo-Day Bash 2020 goes live on December 1st.
