By Sean Carey,
Season 2 for Rocket League rolls out to all players next week, and with it comes an Xbox Series X|S update that gives the players the option to pick between Performance and Quality modes.

On December 8th, the day before Season 2 goes live, players will be able to download an Xbox Series X|S update. A new "Video Quality" setting will be added to the Video tab of the Settings menu, which allows users to select between two visual modes: Quality and Performance.

Xbox Series X

  • Quality: 4K resolution at 60 FPS with HDR
  • Performance: Game runs at 2688×1512 resolution (70% of 4K) at 120 FPS with HDR

Xbox Series S

  • Quality: 1080p Resolution at 60 FPS with HDR
  • Performance: Game runs at 1344×756 (70% of 1080p) Resolution at 120 FPS with HDR
Season 2 also brings with it a new arena called Neon Fields for both online and private matches, and a new limited-time mode called Rocket Labs that periodically adds non-standard and experimental arenas and game modes to a special LTM Playlist.

A new customisation option called Player Anthems is also set to be added. Players will be able to equip new and old Rocket League songs that play after "goals, epic saves, and after earning MVP honours." Player Anthems can be unlocked by completing challenges, through the Item Shop, and via the Rocket Pass. The Season 2 Rocket Pass will feature 70+ tiers of items, including a new car, wheels, decals, and plenty more customisation options. You can view everything that's included in the Rocket Pass here.

Rocket League's Xbox Series X|S update rolls out on December 8th and Season 2 begins on December 9th.
