Microsoft Flight Simulator VR support coming in a free update later this month

By Sean Carey,
The long-awaited VR mode is finally coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator at the end of this month. In Asobo Studio's latest stream, the developer announced that VR support would be coming to all players for free as part of Sim Update 2 on December 23rd.

Best of all, VR support will be coming to all devices. During the stream (thanks, Polygon), Asobo Studio executive producer Martial Bossard said, "Everybody will get access to VR now. When I say everybody, it will also be open to all devices, including the Oculus family, Valve family, really every family of headset are going to be supported." The entirety of Microsoft Flight Simulator will be playable in VR, including all menus, meaning players won't have to remove their headset during a session.

Following Sim Update 2, is World Update 3, which focuses on the United Kingdom. Players can expect between 50 and 60 new points of interest across England, Wales, and Scotland, and some new airports. World Update 3 is expected to roll out on January 28th, 2021.

Sim Update 2 and VR support comes to Microsoft Flight Simulator on December 23rd.
