Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One delayed, new Warzone map confirmed

By Brittany Vincent,
Ready for more Call of Duty: Warzone content? You're going to be waiting a little while. It appears that the Season One update will be delayed by one week, which effectively moves the release databank from December 10 to December 16.

Activision took to an official blog post to announce that the first season, while delayed, will still offer "an unprecedented amount of free Call of Duty: Warzone content" as well as "an undeniable offering" of Black Ops Cold War content. They team reiterated that it needed just a "few more days" to prep for one of the biggest launch weeks it had ever seen.

The team isn't exaggerating. There's a massive store of weapons and blueprintscoming to Warzone to change up how the game plays, in addition to maps, v2 Gunfight, and other goodies to Black Ops Cold War. Warzone is also set to welcome a new map.

The delay is a bit frustrating, but it shouldn't matter too much in the scheme of things. It will arrive soon enough to jump into and enjoy before the holidays get into full swing, and this way there's something of a buffer before Cyberpunk 2077 takes the industry by storm.

In the meantime, you can join in on a Double XP and Double Weapon XP weekend in Black Ops Cold War beginning on 10 AM PT Saturday, December 12th until Season One debuts. You'll also get access to two free bundles: the "Field Research" bundle as well as the "Certified" bundle, which comes offering weapon charms, reticle, weapon skins, and operator skin.

You should have plenty to keep you busy, but keep your eyes open for the new content to drop, too.
