Rust Console Edition delayed into 2021

By Sean Carey,
Developer Double Eleven announced last year that its popular PC game Rust would be coming to Xbox One and PS4 in 2020. Unfortunately, the survival game has now been delayed into 2021.

In a statement published over on the Double Eleven website, the Rust team said, "It’s been a while since we shared anything in the public domain and as the end of 2020 is nigh, we want to confirm that Rust is still coming to console, just a little later than planned." According to the developer, all of its employees have had to shift to working from home due to the pandemic, which has naturally thrown up a few challenges for the game's development.

"We’re sorry that we haven’t been able to bring you Rust on console in 2020 as planned," the statement continues. "We know from all of the messages that you’re excited to play it and we hope that with the dawn of 2021 we can restore your trust as we edge closer to being able to share something with you."

Rust Console Edition will now launch sometime in 2021.
