TA Game of the Year 2020 voting open now!

By Luke Albigés,
With just days left until 2020 finally takes the hint and leaves, it's time to look back on what has been — all things considered — a damn good year for gaming. Sure, there have been disappointments and delays, but also surprises and new toys to play with... if you were lucky enough to get through the disastrous preorder process, that is. We want to know what you think are the games that deserve to be crowned 2020's finest, so voting to decide on TA's Game of the Year is now open!

GOTY 2020

This year, we've got 12 categories to vote in, with new additions covering Game Pass and TA community events, old classics to find the best and most interesting achievements of the year, and of course that all-important overall community GOTY for 2020. You'll be asked to pick your top five games in that last one, and order matters — make sure you stick the games you enjoyed most at the top of your list here.

Last's year's voting saw The Outer Worlds pull in the most votes to be declared the TA community's GOTY 2019, outperforming the likes of Borderlands 3 and Gears 5 to steal the title.

To give everyone a chance to use the holidays to catch up on great games they might have missed, we won't be closing voting until January 3rd at 11:59pm UTC. Our first order of business when we're back in the new year will be to collate all the votes, and let you know which games cleaned up in each category.

You can vote now through the 2020 TA Game of the Year event page, and we'll be back with the winners in just a few weeks. If you need a reminder on what came out this year, here's a handy list of all of 2020's Xbox releases.
