Injustice 2, Torchlight 3, and five more games coming to Xbox Game Pass in January

By Sean Carey,
Microsoft has announced the first wave games joining the Xbox Game Pass lineup in January. By January 14th, seven games will have been added to the already stacked Game Pass library. Injustice 2 (and its Windows 10 version), eFootball PES 2021 Season Update, Torchlight III, The Little Acre, Neoverse, What Remains of Edith Finch, and YIIK: A Postmodern RPG are joining Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC shortly.

Injustice 2 (Android, Console, and PC) - January 7th

Injustice 2 is joining both Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC later this week. The sequel to Injustice: God's Among Us will have you building the ultimate version of your favourite DC character. The fighting game's story mode continues from where God's Among Us left off and sees Batman battling a new threat that's put the entire world at risk. The Windows 10 version of Injustice 2 has its own separate achievement list.

eFootball PES 2021 Season Update (Android and Console) - January 7th

Joining Xbox Game Pass for console and Cloud Gaming on January 7th is eFootball PES 2021 Season Update. This is a standalone game that doesn't require PES 2020 to play and features all of the same mechanics as last year's PES title, but with updated team rosters.

The Little Acre (Android and Console) - January 7th

The Little Acre Screens 4

Also joining Xbox Game Pass for console and Cloud Gaming is The Little Acre. Set in 1950s Ireland, you'll follow the story of Lily and her missing father Aidan, who has managed to teleport to a strange new world. The adventure game looks to be an easy completion and shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to unlock all of its achievements.

Neoverse (PC) - January 14th

Neoverse Achievements

Neoverse is a "strategic, action, rogue-lite, deck-building game" that features 300 different cards and over 100 skills. You'll be able to choose from three different characters and will have to battle against 70 types of monsters using various skill combinations for each character. Neoverse already features in Xbox Game Pass for console.

Torchlight III (Android and Console) - January 14th

Torchlight III sees Novastraia, once again, under the threat of invasion, and it's up to you and your allies to defend it from the Netherim. In this Action-RPG, you'll create your own hero, choosing one of four different classes and travel the wilds of Novastraia defeating enemies either solo or with a group of friends. Torchlight III joins Xbox Game Pass for console and Cloud Gaming on January 14th.

What Remains of Edith Finch (PC) - January 14th

What Remains of Edith Finch is one of the finest walking simulators out there. You play as Edith, who travels back to her childhood home to unravel a strange mystery about her family. What Remains of Edith Finch is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC, but we don't know if it will have a separate achievement list. If it does, you can expect another easy 1,000G from Giant Sparrow's fantastic adventure title.

YIIK: A Postmodern RPG (PC) - January 14th

YIIK Xbox Game Pass

YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is also coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC on January 14th. The JRPG-styled game is set in the late 90s, and you play as Alex, a college graduate who witnesses a woman vanish from an elevator. Using the power of the internet, Alex gathers a squad of misfits together to investigate the woman's strange disappearance.

We'll likely have some more Xbox Game Pass news soon. The Xbox Game Pass Twitter account has been teasing the return of a fan-favourite game to the service, and we were hoping that whatever this tease might be referring to would be included in this announcement, but none of these games have featured in the Game Pass library before.

Microsoft has also announced the latest batch of games to leave Xbox Game Pass soon. Tekken 7, My Friend Pedro, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, and FTL: Faster Than Light will all drop out of the service soon.
