The console port of Rust could be launching sooner rather than later as a new rating for the game has just been discovered over on the ESRB website. https://youtu.be/1uprAyRDZn0 Rust Console Edition was first announced back at X019 and was due to launch sometime last year. However, the multiplayer survival game never materialised, leading developer Double Eleven to announce a delay last month. The rating (thanks, Comicbook) lists only Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as platforms, so it's possible that Rust Console Edition will not be optimised for latest consoles. It has an "M" rating and is described by the ESRB as, "a multiplayer first-person survival game in which players compete to survive in a hostile environment. Players explore the open-world environment, gather resources, create weapons (e.g., spears, machine guns, explosives), and defend themselves from wild animals and other players. Players can attack and kill enemies in frenetic combat, with successful hits resulting in large splashes of blood. Players can keep shooting animals or humans on the ground (i.e., postmortem damage), accompanied by large blood-splatter effects. " "Battles are highlighted by realistic gunfire and explosions. When human enemies are killed, they can be harvested for body parts and cooked for food." When a game is rated, it usually means that it's nearly ready to launch, so hopefully, we'll hear more on Rust's console port in the coming weeks. Thanks to Maxumilli0n for the news tip.
