Dead Cells' Fatal Falls DLC launches this month with two new levels and a new boss

By Heidi Nicholas,
The Dead Cells Fatal Falls DLC arrives in a few weeks on January 26th, bringing two new levels — The Fractured Shrines and The Undying Shores — and a new boss, as well as new weapons and enemies.

Fatal Falls will have you "leap across the floating islands of The Fractured Shrines, descend a stormy cliff face in The Undying Shores and conquer a new green-fingered boss in fresh mid-game content designed to expand the Dead Cells universe and add variety to runs for people who want to support the development of the game." The Fractured Shrines house a pagan cult, while its floating islands are "connected by precarious aerial ledges littered with traps and deadly drops." The cliff of The Undying Shores is full of caves with "strange experiments & undead healers," while the new boss, the gardener, can be found in The Mausoleum. Motion Twin adds that these levels are designed as alternatives to Stilt Village/Clock Tower and Slumbering Sanctuary/Forgotten Sepulcher, while the boss is meant to be "on par with The Time Keeper."

Fatal Falls will launch in a few weeks on January 26th for $4.99. Over on Twitter, Motion Twin also confirmed that the free Malaise update will also arrive for consoles soon after, "somewhere in February."
