Overwatch's Kanezaka Challenge is live now with new rewards and a new deathmatch map

By Heidi Nicholas,
Overwatch's Kanezaka Challenge is live now, running until January 25th. You can earn rewards like the Kyogisha Hanzo Skin for winning games, while the new Kanezaka deathmatch map lies below Shimada Castle, and features a pottery workshop and cat cafe.

"Deathmatch map" and "cat cafe" don't really sound like two phrases that would go together, but Blizzard describes the map as a "quiet town" where you can "stroll down the streets and enjoy the ambience." If you're less interested in sight-seeing than in earning rewards, you might be more interested to hear what you can win by playing games in Quick Play, Competitive Play, and Arcade on the map. Winning three games gets you the Pagoda player icon, winning six gets the Yokai Spray, and winning nine gets you the Kyogisha Hanzo Skin.

You can also win another six sprays — the Shrine District Spray, the Pawttery and Tato Takes Off Spray, and the Dragon Consumes, Bath Time, and Catchamari Sprays — by watching Overwatch streamers on Twitch. This Kanezaka Challenge is a micro-event, running for just under two weeks and ending on January 25th, so you have until then to try out the map and earn those rewards.
