Every year, franchises see graphical overhauls, new game modes and extra controls, but often the AI makes predictable steps forwards. Rarely do things come on in notable leaps and bounds.
EA are confident that FIFA 12
will offer something new this time around though, with CPU players who demonstrate a genuine awareness which extends beyond their own role and activities:
CPU players have been infused with self-awareness and aptitude, enabling them to make decisions based on their own skills as well as the strengths and attributes of their team-mates.
Players who possess exceptional vision will see opportunities for through balls that other players won't.
In the demonstration video, EA uses Fàbregas to state their case, showing how much more likely he is to notice and execute a run over a 'lesser' player. It's all quite in depth and revealing, so fire up the embedded video below for full details.
The confirmed release dates for FIFA 12
are September 30th in the UK/EU and September 27th in North America.
