Xbox game releases — February 1st to 7th

By Robbie Andrews,
Things are still looking a little quiet on the Xbox front as we head into February, but there are a few notable releases and the usual assortment of indie oddities to keep us occupied. The Xbox Series X|S version of Control: Ultimate Edition is probably the biggest release of next week, and it'll be interesting to see how the new consoles improve the patchy performance of the Xbox One version. Elsewhere, don't sleep on Project Winter... it's a multiplayer 'hidden role' game in the same sort of vein as Among Us, with survivors doing their best to make repairs, gather supplies, and eventually escape the wintery wasteland, while randomly designated traitors are thrown into the mix to wreak havoc with the group's efforts. Project Winter has been out on PC for around 18 months and developed quite a following, so it's great to see it finally coming to console as well.

From this page, you can view a game's achievement list (if it's been revealed), subscribe to a game for news updates, add them to your wishlist, and even click through to the Microsoft Store to preorder or purchase. Here's a breakdown of everything coming to the world of Xbox next week. Let us know which of these you're planning on picking up in the comments!

Glittering Sword — Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One

Not every game can be rated solely by screenshots. It's like a human's essence that can’t be measured by a staged photo. And thus Glittering Sword is not that kind of game that some may think judging by screenshots or trailer. On the first glance it looks like typical action-adventure, like many other classic titles from the 90's. Glittering Sword is full with the spiritual references to these classical gaming brands, and it’s shiny and balanced graphical setting helps the player to dive into the memorable adventure. Best way to describe this game by phrase: «fantasy adventure set in a cozy world with Sokoban-style puzzles». Here, each screen is the individual location with traps, enemies, portals and switches, and the player needs to learn the exact order of completing things the right way. The more you play Glittering Sword, the harder it gets with traps being more and more deadly, and the enemies become tougher. We hope that players who are addicted to adventure games will fall in love with this small but very entertaining game.
