Halo job listing hints at new game in the works at 343 Industries

By Luke Albigés,
Update: Halo community manager John Junyszek has done some digging into the job listing and confirmed that the job role is in fact for Halo Infinite.

Original Story: Halo Infinite may not be the only Halo title in development at 343 Industries, if a newly spotted job opening is anything to go by. The post is specifically looking for a producer for "a new project in the Halo universe," and many are speculating this could be the rumoured new entry in spin-off series, Halo Wars.

Halo Wars 2: Light Combat

The job listing (thanks, IGN) offers a "chance to work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry with one of the industry’s most talented teams," after specifically name-checking both 343 Industries and the Halo series, leaving little doubt over this being a new role on a new project. We'd usually suggest that the posting implies that the game is still in the early stages if they're only just bringing a producer on board, but seeing the Mad Hatter's Tea Party that Halo Infinite's development has become, we're not quite so comfortable making such an assertion as we may normally be.

The role also requires "experience shipping AAA current generation games as a Producer," which would lead us to believe this won't be some minor companion title or anything outside of gaming, with many assuming this unannounced title will be a new Halo Wars game. That said, last year's rumours of a new Halo Wars title were accompanied by the suggestion that a second spin-off was also being planned, apparently set to follow Halo 5's Fireteam Osiris during the events of Infinite. Whether this new title is indeed one of these two or something entirely different remains to be seen, so we'll have to wait until Microsoft is ready to reveal the game officially to find out what it really is.

Are you up for more Halo Wars? Or does that spin-off game sound more interesting to you? Perhaps you want something entirely different, like a Halo kart racing game? Let us know in the comments!
