Microsoft will reportedly hold a Bethesda event next month

By Sean Carey,
Microsoft is reportedly gearing up to hold a Bethesda-themed event when its $7.5 billion acquisition of ZeniMax Media is finalised. That's according to notable GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb who made the claim during a recent GamesBeat Decides podcast (via VGC).

Grubb said, "Yeah, I think [Microsoft is] going to have an event for this. I don’t know if it will be a full, Direct-style event, but they will make note of it, and they will talk about it extensively and explain what it means for everybody and kind of talk about the immediate future for both companies becoming one. So yeah, expect that to happen sometime in mid-March." Grubb says that this could be one of Microsoft's "milestones" for new information before this year's digital E3 event, and also notes that Microsoft and Bethesda will likely hold separate E3 conferences this year.

We're expecting to hear more on Microsoft's ZeniMax acquisition once the EU decides whether to approve the deal on March 5th. The European Commission's antitrust regulators could give the green light for the acquisition to go ahead or decided to conduct a more thorough investigation into the agreement.
