Xbox Gameplay Chart: Wreckfest bounces back into the top 20 after joining Xbox Game Pass

By Heidi Nicholas,
Our latest Xbox Gameplay Chart shows the most stubborn top ten we've seen in a while, but further down, a number of reappearances round out the top 40 — including Wreckfest, which has bounced back into the top 20 after being added to Xbox Game Pass — with the rest of the chart reshuffling to make room. Here is the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending February 21st, 2021.

Once again, Call of Duty refuses to budge from the top two spots, and it's not until 13th place that we see a change: Assassin's Creed Valhalla has jumped four spaces after the launch of its new River Raid update, which adds a new game mode, new abilities, new skills, game improvements, and more. AC Odyssey managed to stay in the top 40 of our Xbox Gameplay Chart longer than nearly any other single-player game, so it's likely we'll see Valhalla have the same sort of shelf-life, especially since Ubisoft says Valhalla will "benefit from a stronger and longer post-launch programme" than Odyssey.

Wreckfest re-joins the chart at 20th after its addition to Xbox Game Pass. Being added to the Game Pass library does tend to give those games a boost on the chart, but not many seem to actually hold that spot in the top 40 for long, so it'll be interesting to see how Wreckfest fares. Further down, Battlefield V has jumped five places to 25th, while Cyberpunk 2077 continues to drop, this week falling six places to 31st. We're still fairly early on in the Cyberpunk 2077 updates roadmap — which sees the free DLC content and next-gen update arriving later this year — so we'll just have to wait and see how Cyberpunk's ranking on our Xbox Gameplay Chart changes in the future. Rounding out the top 40 are two more reappearances with DayZ at 37th and Control, which featured in the most recent weekly Xbox Game Pass Quests, at 39th. This week's disappearances are Warframe, Fallout 76, and Project Winter. Looking ahead, the rest of February is pretty empty of major releases, but we still have a fair few games joining Xbox Game Pass soon, including Dirt 5 and Elite: Dangerous. What do you think will be next in the top 20? Let us know in the comments!
