Majesco, Twentienth Century Fox and Bagdasarian productions announced today that they are currently developing a new Alvin and the Chipmunks game to coincide with the release of the third movie in the franchise, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked
The game will be a singing and dancing title featuring Alvin, Simon, Theodore and the Chippettes; Brittany, Eleanor, and Jeanette. As an added bonus, the game will also allow you to have your voice played back 'Alvin-ized', apparently without the need of a special helium balloon accessory.
Gary Rosenfeld, Senior Vice President of New Media for Fox Consumer Products shared his thoughts on bringing the game to Kinect.
This game will bring fans even closer to the fun and music of Alvin and the Chipmunks by taking full advantage of the Kinect for Xbox 360. It’s going to be the perfect complement to the upcoming film and we know that fans are going to love it.
Besides the singing and dancing involved, the game will feature a story inspired by the movie. When Alvin and the Chipmunks' cruise liner becomes shipwrecked, they then embark on an around-the-world adventure which leads the Chipmunks to six tropical locations. While hearing your 'Alvin-ized' voice is going to be undoubtedly entertaining, the game will also allow you to "unleash your “Munk Power” to perform ultra-cool dance moves".
Several features from Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked
*Sing and dance as any of The Chipmunks and The Chipettes-Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor.
*Perform more than 50 different dance moves to electrify the crowd with your on screen performance.
*Customize your Chipmunk before you hit the stage by choosing from a huge range of styles and accessories.
