Xbox Gameplay Chart: MLB The Show 21 already in top 30

By Heidi Nicholas,
Our latest Xbox Gameplay Chart shows MLB The Show 21 already in the top 30, despite the fact that it's not actually out until tomorrow. It turns out, if you pre-ordered the Jackie Robinson Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition, you got four days early access and could start playing on April 16th. A fair few TA community members seem to have made use of this offer, since the MLB The Show 21 game page shows over 2,800 TA players having already started the game, with two having actually completed it. Since the game was already at 21st before its own release date, it's possible we'll see MLB The Show 21 climb a little higher up the next few charts. Here is the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending April 18th, 2021.

In the top ten, GTA V has supplanted Black Ops Cold War for second place, while Outriders has dropped out of the top five, coming in to land at seventh. A little further down, Sea of Thieves has hopped up one place to 16th. The game's second season kicked off just a few days ago, and it's likely we'll see Sea of Thieves sailing higher as more players return for the season's events. Zombie Army 4: Dead War, which last week made its first appearance at 23rd just days after joining Xbox Game Pass, has this week jumped several spaces higher to 19th.

A little further down, NHL 21 makes its first appearance at 30th after joining Xbox Game Pass last week, with Warframe reappearing at 33rd after its Xbox Series X|S optimisation update. Cyberpunk 2077 has also seen a small uptick in players, hopping up three places to 36th after CD Projekt Red released Update 1.21. Rounding out the top 40 is Rain on Your Parade, which joined Xbox Game Pass just a few days ago, Brawlhalla, Halo 5: Guardians, and Borderlands 3. This week's four disappearances are Skate 3, Black Ops III, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Minecraft Dungeons.

Coming up, we've got the actual launch of MLB The Show 21, MotoGP 21, Second Extinction, and more, as well as whatever surprise Xbox Game Pass additions Microsoft has up its sleeve for the rest of April. What do you think? Will MLB The Show 21 continue to climb? What will make it into the top ten next? Let us know what you think in the comments!
