In a post over on the EA website, DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson explains that DICE has its "biggest team ever" working on Battlefield 6. Recently, EA announced that Criterion would move to support DICE and DICE L.A. in the development of this year's Battlefield, delaying the next Need for Speed title in the process. "We’re in daily playtesting mode right now: polishing, balancing, and making the best possible Battlefield game we can," Gabrielson says. "I can tell you it is a bold step. It has everything we love about Battlefield – and takes all of it to the next level." According to Gabrielson, players can expect all-out military warfare set on an epic scale, with crazy, unexpected moments, game-changing destruction, and "massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before."Battlefield is expected to launch sometime in holiday 2021. DICE says it will be revealing the new game "soon."DICE also announced a standalone mobile Battlefield title, which is a "completely different game" from Battlefield 6. "It’s being built from the ground up by iToys to make Battlefield-on-the-go a reality and you can expect a fully-fledged, skill-based experience," Gabrielson says.
