Xbox game releases — May 10th to 16th

By Sean Carey,
Next week, 14 games make their way to the Xbox platform, including arguably one of the biggest launches of the year, Mass Effect Legendary Edition. We've also got some medium-sized releases in the form of Subnautica: Below Zero and Hood: Outlaws & Legends, as well as a bunch of smaller indie titles. For the achievement hunters (the one's that really care about Gamerscore and game completions), you'll be happy to see that three Xitilon games (and one game formerly published by the publisher) are getting Windows 10 stacks, all dropping on May 12th.

From this page, you can view a game's achievement list if it's been released, subscribe to a game for news updates, add them to your wishlist, and even click through to the Microsoft Store to preorder or purchase. Here's a breakdown of everything coming to the world of Xbox next week. Let us know which of these you're planning on picking up in the comments!

Fast paced turn-based strategy
50 Years is a fast-paced alternative to the bigger, longer turn-based strategy games. You can win or lose a game in a single evening. Either way you'll want to play again.

Still a strategy
We love strategy games and we want to keep all those emotions that we had while playing them. That's why "50 years" is still a strategy. You will take difficult decisions and take risks.

Replayability
Quick matches doesn't mean that you will soon get tired of playing. if you loose you would play again just to survive longer. If you win you would play again to beat the game even better. Furthermore the element of randomness makes your decisions non-obivous.

Early game matters
We are sure that early game is one of the most fun parts of strategy game. Of course, the mistakes in early game can have unfortunate consequences and can even lead to defeat, but that is what makes this games interesting.

Butterfly — Windows

Platformer puzzle game with an interesting gimmick. You can't jump, so you need to bounce off your enemies or use tubes to your advantage. Both platformer skills AND logic are required to complete 40 challenging levels! Deft fingers and quick reactions are required. Sweaty neck guaranteed.

"I am a little caterpillar. I live in a world where obstacles and enemies are waiting for me on the way to a blossoming meadow, where I will fly like a butterfly. I do not jump like a grasshopper, I can not swim like a fish and fly like a bird. But I am smart and can use the weaknesses of my enemies. Every water lily or pebble, every loophole will be my faithful helpers. The adventure begins. You can help the caterpillar to quickly turn into a butterfly."

Butterfly 2 — Windows

The second part of the platformer-puzzle game Butterfly! A catepillar's adventures on the quest of getting butterfly wings.
Enjoy 40 new challenging levels, with pixel graphics and new enemies!

Game Features
The caterpillar can't jump on its own.
Bounce off the enemies to your advantage!
Use tubes to travel around the level.
Wide variety of levels: both platformer skills and logic are required.
Choose the right route to collect all the flowers.

Castle of no Escape 2 — Windows

Prepare yourself for the dangers of the cursed castle! Countless heroes have tried and failed to destroy the ancient spell that holds its walls. Meanwhile, hundreds of monsters are roaming inside, guarding the sword shards — the last known thing to be capable of defeating the demonic castle owner, thus shattering its magical structure.

Although, you are not alone — some help could be obtained from the merchants, who, for reasons not truly understood, offer their services right inside the lair of evil. Though, it seems to be only a matter of time for them to disappear...

Explore 6 x 6 x 6 = 216 rooms of randomly generated hazards and enemies while collecting the necessary artefacts. Plan your next step carefully, because save points aren't a thing in a rogue-lite game! There is, however, another option, explained below.

FEATURES

Battle System: Every character is different, try them all! Perform the Agile attack when you're in a pinch. Use armor and shields to your advantage and boost armor stats using the emblems.

PAL/NTSC modes: If the game feels too unforgiving, you can tone down the difficulty, lowering the framerate to 50 (PAL). Note, though, that music and sounds become more evil at the 83% of their original pitch.

Password System: Just like in an old NES game, in this game you need to input 13 characters to get back to your game session. Still, the powers of evil prevent you from saving anything much more than the artefacts you've found...

Unfold the mystery: Defeat minibosses to unlock more playable characters.
