Gears 5 Operation 8 will be its last, no new achievements with Operation 7 [updated]

By Sean Carey,
Update: The Coalition has now detailed what's included with Operation 7, and senior community manager TC Shauny has confirmed that there are no new achievements coming in this Operation. TC Shauny said over on the Gears forums, "There [are] no sneaky achievements coming in OP7-Drop1, there aren’t any at all as it stands."

Original Story: The Coalition's senior community manager TC Shauny has confirmed that Operation 8 in Gears 5 will be the game's last Operation.

Following The Coalition's announcement that it would be switching over to Unreal Engine 5 for its future projects, TC Shauny was asked on Twitter if Operations 7 and 8 would be Gears 5's last. "Operation 8 is the last Operation," he confirmed. "There will be stuff to do in-game, services will continue to run, and we'll have a Tour of Duty that'll continually refresh."

TC Shauny also spoke of achievements and medals, confirming that both would be tied to Operations 7 and 8. Perhaps a second chapter for Seriously 5.0 - Chapter 1 will finally be added?

TC Shauny also revealed that Operation 8 will introduce 10 new Re-Up levels, so it's possible we could have a new Re-Up achievement coming soon.

The Coalition says it will be detailing Operation 7 later today. We'll update you once we find out more about what's included.
