By Sean Carey,
Update: Mike Brown, creative director at Playground Games, has revealed that Forza Horizon 5 will run at 4K 60fps in performance mode on Xbox Series X and 1080p 60fps on Xbox Series S. With the game running at 4K in both modes on Series X, it's currently unclear what visuals will be downgraded or even given up entirely to hit the buttery smooth 60fps mark in performance mode.

Original Story:Microsoft unveiled Forza Horizon 5 last night during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. Now, Playground Games has detailed the two performance modes on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.

Over on the Forza support website, Playground Games says, 2Xbox Series X|S enabled us to provide players the most technologically advanced Forza Horizon experience yet. The power of the Xbox Series consoles has enabled us to deliver incredible realism and immersion with a world rendered in higher detail and with extreme draw distances."

On Xbox Series X, Forza Horizon 5 will run at 4K 30fps and 1080p 30fps on Xbox Series S. There is also an optional 60fps performance mode on both consoles (resolutions haven't been specified) and ray tracing in the Forzavista vehicle viewing mode to "make the cars look even more true to real life." No performance details have been given for the game running on Xbox One.

Forza Horizon 5 is set in Mexico and, according to Playground Games, has the "largest, most diverse open world ever."

Forza Horizon 5 launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 on November 9th. It will also be available with Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC on day one.

For those that purchase the Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 5 or the Premium Add-Ons Bundle, you'll get four days early access to the open-world racing game.
