EA has had to increase server capacity for Battlefield 4 due to players returning to the game following the Battlefield 2042 reveal.

With all the excitement surrounding Battlefield 2042, players have been jumping back into Battlefield 4. So many players have returned to Battlefield 4 that its servers struggled to keep up with demand, resulting in EA increasing server capacity for the modern-day first-person shooter. Community manager EA Straatford said over on the EA website (via GamesRadar), "We were absolutely blown away by your excitement and reactions to the recent Battlefield 2042 reveal.

"Since then, many of you have jumped back into Battlefield 4 to already get a taste of the return to all-out-warfare," EA Straatford continued. "We’ve been monitoring your experience and noticed queue times in the US West region were far longer than in other regions. Good news, we’ve increased server capacity for this region – you can expect less waiting and more playing."

Straatford concludes the post by saying that EA will continue to monitor queue times and will make further adjustments if needed.

Last week, Battlefield 4 stormed back into our Xbox Gameplay Chart out of nowhere, claiming 25th place. Early Gameplay Chart data indicates that the FPS has climbed even higher this week. PlayStation players have also returned to Battlefield 4 as evidenced by the TrueTrophies PlayStation Gameplay Chart — Battlefield 4 currently sits in 31st place.
