Blackwind stomps onto Xbox later this year

By Tom West,
Blowfish Studios has announced that its upcoming action-platformer, Blackwind, will be launching on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One later this year. The game features sci-fi hack-and-slash combat against an alien invasion, where you’ll need to suit up in a Battle Frame mech suit to defend your mining colony.

Blackwind is an upcoming sci-fi action-platformer by developer Blowfish Studios and takes players to a planet called Medusa-42, which is being invaded by an alien threat called the Raknos. You’ll play as an untrained teen who has found himself inside a Battle Frame mech suit and must take the fight to the Raknos in a journey across the planet. You’ll be aided by Blackwind, a sentient AI drone — which can also be controlled by a second player in local co-op.

You’ll travel to various places on Medusa-42 with your AI companion, from deserts to snowy mountains, in an attempt to defeat the Raknos. Your Battle Frame is armed with various melee strikes, ranged attacks, and special moves which can be upgraded through three different progression paths, so you can turn your mech suit into the ultimate death machine.

Blackwind launches in Q4 2021 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Will you be suiting up and eradicating the Raknos? Let us know!
