I sat for about twenty minutes, attempting to write an introduction for this article that was tasteful, insightful and attempted to explain the insanity present in this game. I mean, by now, we are all used to Suda51's offbeat style. This is the man behind the recently released Shadows of the Damned
, a game widely acknowledged as "off-beat and over the top".
Ladies and gentlemen, I have the honor of introducing you to Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacturing's next title, Lollipop Chainsaw
. For this latest zombie-slaying massacre, you play as Juliet, a student at San Romero High School. On her 18th birthday, which is one of those details that...well you'll see, zombies invade Juliet's school and, armed with a trusty chainsaw and an arsenal of cheerleading moves (we're getting there, hold on a few more sentences), Juliet must beat back the undead horde. Juliet is not just your average pig-tailed, blond, barely 18 high school cheerleader however, as she is the latest in a long line of zombie slayers.
She also carries a severed head around her waist and her favorite color is pink. Think I have stalled enough, let's see some screenshots that come courtesy of Famitsu
Here's a concept image of Juliet with her weapon of choice.Lollipop Chainsaw
is currently only slated for release in Japan. That is expected to change as this title was being worked on con-currently as Shadows of the Damned
and Grasshopper Manufacture fully intends to bring the title out worldwide.
