The news comes via CharlieIntel (thanks, Gamespot), who was contacted by Activision regarding the speculation surrounding the rumoured Modern Warfare 3 remaster. The rumours have been circling for a little while now, and for good reason — considering Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare received a remaster that shipped with 2016’s Infinite Warfare premium editions, and Modern Warfare 2 also received a standalone remaster last year, it seems only natural for players to think that Modern Warfare 3 would have one on the way as well.

Unfortunately, Activision has shut it all down with the following statement to CharlieIntel: “A remaster of Modern Warfare 3, campaign or multiplayer, does not exist. Any reports otherwise are incorrect.”

Were you hoping for a Modern Warfare 3 remaster, or would you prefer they focus on Warzone/future titles? Let us know!
