Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Gameplay Footage

By Rebecca Smith, 7 years ago
Ten years have passed since the release of Halo: Combat Evolved on the Xbox. The game that started one of Microsoft's most iconic exclusives is now being released for the Xbox 360 as Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and will include a fully re-mastered campaign, Xbox LIVE campaign co-op play, and re-mastered versions of seven of the most popular multiplayer maps.

The game was demonstrated behind closed doors at E3 2011, but now that gameplay demo has been released to the public. Dan Ayoub, Executive Producer at 343 Industries, talks players through a section of 'Silent Cartographer', the fourth level of the campaign.

The majority of the game's coding has been taken directly from the original game, so that the re-mastered version plays in exactly the same way as the original. This has been layered onto a new graphics engine, so that it looks like a current generation title. However, Halo fans will be pleased to find that 343 are including a Classic mode. This allows players to switch between the original graphics and the modern graphics at the push of a button, so that players can compare old with new at any time.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is due to be released on November 15th, 2011. Check out the pre-order bonuses here.
