Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes shows off gameplay with director commentary

By Heidi Nicholas,
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes shows off nearly 15 minutes of gameplay with director commentary in a new video. Check it out here:

House of Ashes is set near the end of the Iraq war, when an earthquake traps soldiers from both sides in the ruins of a Sumerian temple. "The survivors soon discover that they’re not alone — they’ve woken a nest of unearthly creatures, which are hungry for blood," adds game director Will Doyle.

The gameplay shown in the video above focuses more on the sort of choices you'll be faced with, and gives a glimpse of the different playthroughs you can experience. "In the Dark Pictures games, we always want you to think about what it is you're doing. So, even when you're presented with a button prompt, sometimes you still have to think about what to do," explains Doyle.

The developers are holding an AMA on Reddit tomorrow, September 15th — you can share your questions now — so it's possible we'll find out some new details about House of Ashes then. We'll be sure to update you with any major news!
