Sherlock Holmes Chapter One trailer confirms November 16th release date on Xbox Series X|S

By Luke Albigés,
Frogwares has put out a new trailer for upcoming sleuth-'em-up Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, confirming a November 16th release date on Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox One version, meanwhile, has been delayed indefinitely.

Chapter One takes us back to before the days of John Watson and 221b Baker Street, shining a light on "the youthful arrogance and naiveté of the man before the legend." It certainly looks like a fresh and interesting take on the character from a story perspective, while gameplay — aside from some neat observation-enhanced combat — looks pretty much what you'd expect from a Frogwares Sherlock game... which is no bad thing, really.

Pre-order Sherlock Holmes Chapter One to receive the following items:

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments (available immediately)
Victorian Starter Pack

Frogwares is piling on the preorder goodies, too. Early adopters will get the Victorian Starter Pack — including an additional quest, two outfits (one of which is a vampire, because why wouldn't it be?) and some in-game cash to grab more cosmetics early — as well as a free digital copy of Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. If you want even more, there's a Deluxe Edition that comes with all of that as well as the season pass. The first DLC episode, Saints & Sinners, will be available at launch, with additional episodes to follow after that will introduce some familiar relatives and rivals of the young detective.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One launches for Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 16th, and we've already got the achievements on the site. Frogwares says that it "will have more information about PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release dates at a later date." Keen to step into the shoes of a younger Sherlock and solve some crimes? Disappointed that the last-gen version has slipped? Let us know!
