Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 Xbox Series X|S versions delayed to 2022

By Sean Carey,
CD Projekt has announced delays for the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Witcher 3

A post over on CD Projekt's website states that the Xbox Series X|S version of Cyberpunk 2077 will now launch sometime during Q1 2022, while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will launch sometime in the second quarter of 2022. "Based on recommendations supplied by teams supervising the development of both games, we decided to postpone their releases until 2022," a Twitter post from CDPR reads.

Originally, CD Projekt Red targeted late-2021 release windows for the Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 free current-gen upgrades. However, the writing was on the wall regarding a delay when CD Projekt's Michał Nowakowski told investors last month that the company couldn't make any guarantees that the Xbox Series X|S versions would launch this year. We did have a small sliver of hope when a PEGI rating was found with a release date for the Xbox Series X|S version of The Witcher 3, suggesting an imminent release, but as we suspected, it was a mistake.

So, if you've been waiting to play Cyberpunk 2077 on your Xbox Series X|S console with the latest enhancements, as I know many of you have, you're going to have to wait that little bit longer.

Xbox Series X|S versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will now launch in 2022.
