Just days after the NFL universe collectively exhaled over the lockout being lifted
, EA Sports revealed another piece of news sure to fire up NFL and Madden
fans alike. The demo of Madden NFL 12
will hit Xbox LIVE on August 9th.
Avid gridiron fans may recall last year's NFC Championship game where the Green Bay Packers defeated their bitter, NFC North rivals, the Chicago Bears, to earn a trip to the Super Bowl. EA Sports has selected this game as the game users will replay in the demo. Players of course can choose either team but this time around EA is allowing for five minute quarters, rather than the two minute quarters that had become customary in past iterations.
In the demo, gamers will be able to catch their first glimpse of some of the new features in this year's game like surprise onside kicks, revamped TV-style presentation
, and improved tackling animations which EA Sports promises will eliminate the "suction tackling" that in recent years has plagued the series.
Other new features like deeper Franchise and Superstar modes, custom playbooks, and constantly-evolving player traits can be experienced in the full game of the Peyton Hillis-starring Madden NFL 12
when it tackles retail stores across the US on August 30th.
